last msg is a future-delivery letter app. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the app, how the service works, and what choices users have.
What the app is designed to do
Users can draft letters, encrypt final content on-device, save encrypted items, and configure delivery rules so messages can be sent later.
Information we process
- Account information: email address, Sign in with Apple identifier, session information, and optional profile metadata such as phone or address if the user enters it.
- Delivery metadata: silent-period settings, fixed-date delivery settings, default recipient address, and recipient lists for saved items.
- Encrypted vault content: the service stores encrypted ciphertext packages and related metadata. The intended design is that plaintext letters are encrypted on-device before upload.
- AI drafting input: when a user chooses AI drafting or tone adjustment, the relevant draft inputs are sent to the configured AI provider to generate or refine text.
- Subscription information: App Store subscription status and related transaction metadata needed to unlock paid features.
- Operational logs: limited server logs may record request timing, delivery events, and error diagnostics for security, abuse prevention, and service reliability.
How we use information
- To authenticate users and keep their session active.
- To send sign-in verification emails and delivery-related emails.
- To store encrypted vault items and future-delivery configuration.
- To provide AI drafting and writing refinement features when the user requests them.
- To enforce plan limits, support subscriptions, and improve service reliability.
Encryption and plaintext handling
The app is intended to encrypt final saved letter content locally on the user’s device before upload. The server is designed to store encrypted ciphertext and related metadata rather than the final plaintext letter body.
AI-assisted drafting is different from saved vault encryption: if a user asks the AI to help draft or refine a letter, the drafting input may be sent to the configured AI provider for processing at that time.
Third-party services
- Apple: Sign in with Apple and App Store subscriptions.
- Email provider / SMTP: for verification emails and future-delivery email sending.
- AI provider: to generate or revise draft text when the AI feature is used.
Data retention
Account records, encrypted vault items, and delivery metadata may be retained for as long as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
User choices
- Users can choose not to use AI drafting features.
- Users can choose whether to use Sign in with Apple or email-based login where available.
- Users can manage delivery settings and encrypted content inside the app.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13.
